The Gov’t Taco team proved victorious at Gourmet in the Garden 2017, a culinary event raising money for the Louisiana Culinary Institute Foundation and the LSU Ag Center Botanical Gardens.
Farm-to-table Inspiration
Gov’t Taco won Judges’ Choice in the “land animal” category with a farm-to-table inspired taco. The dish featured a beet tortilla topped with Cafeciteaux coffee and Red Stick Spice chili de arbol rubbed Iverstine Family Farms pork belly, an earthy snow pea tendril chimichurri, chicharrón crumble and edible flowers from Fullness Organic Farm.
Perhaps we’ll find a way to get this taco on the menu as a specialty item once we open the doors in White Star Market!
