The Gov’t Taco team proved victorious at Gourmet in the Garden 2017, a culinary event raising money for the Louisiana Culinary Institute Foundation and the LSU Ag Center Botanical Gardens.

Farm-to-table Inspiration

Gov’t Taco won Judges’ Choice in the “land animal” category with a farm-to-table inspired taco. The dish featured a beet tortilla topped with Cafeciteaux coffee and Red Stick Spice chili de arbol rubbed Iverstine Family Farms pork belly, an earthy snow pea tendril chimichurri, chicharrĂ³n crumble and edible flowers from Fullness Organic Farm.

Perhaps we’ll find a way to get this taco on the menu as a specialty item once we open the doors in White Star Market!
